Custom wedding favors people actually want to take home
Custom wedding favors guests take home and finish. These are hot sauce wedding favors in full-size 5 oz bottles, with a label you design: your names, the date, a line about the two of you. Order one per household or one per guest, pick a heat for a mixed crowd, and remind guests who fly home to pack it in a checked bag.

Good to know
Can each bottle have a different guest’s name?
No. Every bottle in a batch is printed with the same label, which is what keeps the price per bottle down. To make it personal, tie a name tag or place card around each bottle’s neck and let the label carry your names and the date.
What is the smallest order?
48 bottles, then whole cases of 24 (48, 72, 96 and so on). All bottles in an order share one sauce and one label; a second flavor is a second batch.
Is there a mild sauce that kids can have?
Glitter Bomb Sweet & Sour is our mildest at Heat 1/5 and the one we mark kid-friendly. It is still a hot sauce, so let parents decide.
Can guests take the bottles on a plane?
Only in checked luggage. The bottle holds 5 oz, and TSA limits liquids in carry-on bags to containers of 3.4 oz (100 mL) or less. Larger containers are allowed in checked bags.
How far ahead should we order?
At least five weeks before you need the bottles in hand. Orders usually take two to four weeks from payment to delivery, and that range is an estimate, so leave room for tagging, bagging and the unexpected.
Can you ship to our venue?
Yes, to any single US address. Check with the venue first: some only accept deliveries in a set window or charge to store boxes. Shipping to home and bringing the cases with the décor is often easier.
Where do the ingredients and nutrition facts go?
On the panel at the right-hand end of the label. It is added at bottling with the Nutrition Facts, the ingredient list with allergen information, and the producer and lot details. Your design covers the front and back, and the Studio shows where that panel sits.
Do these work as engagement party favors?
Yes. Put your names and “We said yes” on the front and the wedding date on the back if it is set. An engagement batch is its own order of at least 48 bottles, so a different design for the wedding means a second batch.
Unique wedding favors, not another trinket
Wedding favors people actually want are the ones that get used. Candles, coasters and little frames tend to stay behind on the tables when the venue clears out; a bottle of sauce goes home in a coat pocket. Ours are full size, not minis: a 5 oz bottle of real sauce with a 3 × 5 in label you design, so the favor ends up in someone’s kitchen and gets passed around their table for months.
Because every bottle is full size, they work best as one per household, as the centerpiece of a welcome bag for out-of-town guests, or as a thank-you for the wedding party and everyone who helped. The 48-bottle minimum still applies to a small wedding; couples with a short guest list often give the rest to vendors, neighbors and relatives who couldn’t make the trip.
How many bottles to order
Start from invitations, not from the guest list you hope for. Say you send 160. Before RSVPs are in, a common planning assumption is that about four in five invited guests attend (80%), so plan on 128. Most guests arrive as couples, so at two to a household, one bottle per household comes to 64. Add 10% in spares for the wedding party, both sets of parents and the people who ask for a second one, and you need 71.
Orders go in whole cases, so for 71 you’d order 72 bottles (the 48-bottle minimum plus one case of 24). At current pricing that order is $753.00 including shipping: $10.46 a bottle, or about $5.88 per guest. To check it, enter 160 invited, 80% attending, one per household of two and 10% spares in the favor calculator on this page, then swap in your own numbers or switch to one bottle per guest.
Every bottle in a batch carries the same label and the same sauce. Two flavors, or a separate design for the rehearsal dinner, means a second batch with its own 48-bottle minimum, so one sauce for everyone is the simple choice.
Engagement party favors
An engagement party is usually smaller than the wedding, so the 48-bottle minimum goes further: one bottle per guest at a party of forty, with the rest saved for the bridal shower or handed to family. A second design for the wedding itself is a second batch with its own minimum, so decide early whether one label covers both.
The label can do double duty as a save-the-date: your names, “We said yes” and the wedding date on the back panel. If the date or venue might still change, leave them off and use the month and year instead.
Label ideas that read well on a small bottle
The front of the label is what guests see on the table, and it wraps around the curve of the bottle. Keep your names, the sauce name and any monogram within about 2 inches across; the Studio warns you when something runs wider. The whole label is only 3 inches tall, so skip tiny script fonts that turn into squiggles when printed.
Two things must appear on the front of every label: a descriptor that says what’s inside, such as Hot Sauce, and the net contents line, 5.0 FL. OZ. (148mL). The Studio adds both and won’t let you order without them. The panel on the right, with Nutrition Facts and ingredients, is added at bottling, so there is nothing for you to write there.
- A sauce name that sounds like the two of you: Happily Ever Hotter, Hot Damn We Did It, Some Like It Hot, or your last names mashed together.
- Your names and the date on the front, with a ring or monogram from the icon library.
- On the back panel: how you met in two sentences, the venue, or a line like “Shake well, pour generously, dance badly.”
- A photo of the two of you on the back. Upload a sharp original: the Studio flags any image that would print below 300 pixels per inch.
Choosing a heat level for a mixed crowd
Wedding guests range from the uncle who carries his own habanero sauce to the flower girl. With one sauce per batch, pick for the middle of the room. Glitter Bomb Sweet & Sour (Heat 1/5) is our mildest and the one we mark kid-friendly. Cajun Cayenne, a crowd-pleaser, sits at Heat 2/5: warm and savory, not a dare. Mango Pineapple (Heat 2/5) is the fruity choice for a summer wedding.
Leave the very hot sauces, like Scorpion Reaper (Heat 5/5), off the favor table. If your friends would love one, it makes a better groomsmen or bridal-party gift, as long as you have at least 48 people to give it to.
When to order and where to ship
Orders usually take two to four weeks from payment to your door. That’s typical, not a promise, so for a wedding we suggest ordering at least five weeks before you need the bottles in hand, and earlier if you plan to tag, ribbon or bag them yourself.
Each order ships to one US address. Shipping to home and bringing the cases to the venue with the rest of the décor is usually simplest. If you ship to the venue, ask the coordinator first whether they accept deliveries and will hold boxes until the day. Until then, keep the bottles somewhere cool and out of direct sun.
Guests who are flying home
A 5 oz bottle is over the 3.4 oz (100 mL) limit for liquids in carry-on bags, so guests who fly home need to pack it in checked luggage, where larger containers are allowed. A small sign on the favor table (“Flying home? Pack me in your checked bag”) saves a few bottles from the security bin.
For a destination wedding, put the bottles in the hotel welcome bags rather than handing them out at the reception: guests then pack them with everything else instead of carrying them to the airport.
Ways couples put them out
A few set-ups that work, depending on the day:
- A favor table by the exit with a sign that ties the sauce name to the day.
- One bottle at each household’s place setting with a name tag tied around the neck: the label stays the same, the tags make it personal.
- Welcome bags for out-of-town guests next to water, snacks and a map. At a mountain venue, a sauce made in Colorado fits right in.
- The rehearsal dinner: a 12 oz BBQ sauce with your names on it, if the menu is barbecue.
- The morning-after brunch: a 25 oz Bloody Mary mix with the wedding date on the label.
